Friedasophie

FREE IMAGES

I'm such a sucker for rough-cut/natural stones and Friedasophie has them in spades. I want her druzy rings stacked on my fingers and peach aragonite necklace hanging around my neck. It's wonderful to find a jewelry artist who appreciates the natural shapes and textures of the stones as well; Freidasophie focuses on simple, clean lines that let the jewels shine for themselves.

Nonfiction Tees

FREE IMAGES

Until my Astronomy class as a senior, science was always my least favorite subject in school. Every time I was interested in science it was in side-stories the class never focused on but I found in the margins. One of the things that has remained with me: Ernst Haeckel's prints. Class focused on "biogentic law" and my eyes fixated on a geometric print of sea slugs that showed how beautiful nature was. Nonfiction Tees has turned some of his most stunning illustrations into today's most wearable art: the basic tee shirt. I'm coveting their mineral tee and non-Haeckel related lunar map tee.

Tiny World In A Bottle

FREE IMAGES

Tiny World In A Bottle is a shop selling just that--tiny worlds captured in bottles smaller than a penny. I'm making an effort to de-clutter my surfaces and shelves, but man do I want a tiny museum of dinosaur skeletons. The jellyfish or dolphins are also a nice alternative to an actual aquarium--double the cuteness and none of the upkeep!

Son of a Sailor USB Drives

FREE IMAGES

I'm always trading USB drives back in forth with various friends for projects we're working on or exchanging photographs we took for each other. My current one is a cute C3PO that I'm fairly protective of because it's so cute and shiny. Anyway, in this digital age you can never have enough thumb drives and they have a tendency to disappear like bobby pins, so I'm currently coveting these handpainted and wood-burned drives by Son of a Sailor. The patterns and colors are so simple and striking--a USB drive your friends won't forget and you'll work hard to not lose.

Catbird

FREE IMAGES
With my on-going obsession of the night sky I can't get these Catbird exclusive designs out of my mind. Their shop is stocked with a variety of beautiful pieces of jewelry and even quirky matchboxes, but it's these petite pieces I keep coming back to again and again.

Katie Rowland Illustrated Wares

FREE IMAGES

Katie Rowland's shop features the most delightful collection of illustrated accessories with quotes and images pulled from popular culture. From Twin Peaks to the more timely Game of Thrones ("winter is coming"), there's something for nearly every television-obsessed geek out there. I'm also a big fan of her feminist brooches and space-themed jewelry. Her illustrations are also pretty sweet.

Unearthen

FREE IMAGES

Between the trippy lookbook to the unique use of gems I can't get enough of Unearthern's designs...from a distance anyway. The prices mean they'd be an investment for me, but I still can't help drooling over the designs. It's the perfect blend of edgy and pretty--jewelry with a bite. A single large sphere ring curling around your finger or one boldly colored bullet necklace would be the only pieces of jewelry you'd need to compliment a summer frock.

Shop Gracie B

FREE IMAGES

Shop Gracie B is one of my awesome sponsors this month and they are offering a special discount code for you. Use code "clothes15" to get 15% off your entire order. It's a fun shop filled with sweet summer dresses and accessories that range from the classic to the quirky. Above are a few of my favorites from the shop--how great is the ampersand ring or the detail on the back of this chartreuse dress? Would definitely enjoy adding more than a couple of pieces from this shop to my closet.

Ladybird Likes

FREE IMAGES
I was drawn to Ladybird Likes when someone featured her sweater collar clips (the ultimate in nerd-girl chic), but I really fell for her retro robots. All of these bright accessories are created by applying vintage illustrations to wood and then laser cutting. She really has filled her shop with the most delightful collection of retro images transformed into wearable art.

Curious Creatures

FREE IMAGES
I've been a fan of Curious Creatures for a couple of years now, so I'm pretty thrilled to see the new items designer Larissa has been working on. I never get tired of her natural stone necklaces, but this summer she's adding delicate silk scarves and tees to the collection. The clothing is a perfect complement to her jewelry collection and both feel oh-so-summery. A dappled blue and green silk tee would look perfect at the beach and nicely balanced with an agate necklace or turquoise earrings. Yep, I might be enamored with everything by Curious Creatures...

Maiden Voyage Clothing

FREE IMAGES
Sometimes I see a cool tee shirt and think "man I really wish I could pull off tees better." I really do think that I look better in a dress than a tee, hence the reason I so rarely wear them on the blog. Still, I own and wear tee shirts like the rest of humanity. These epic glow-in-the-dark ones by Maiden Voyage Clothing are definitely the sort I can't resist. Perfect for a nerd girl hiding inside me.

Birds And Bees

FREE IMAGES

What I would like more of: pretty bobby pins to keep my growing-out pixie more interesting. These birds and bees by Elizabeth Perry fit the bill nicely. They just add sweet charm to disheveled hair. I'm such a details person when it comes to drawing things--most of my monsters or other creatures are just vehicles that allow me to draw fun patterns, but so often when getting dressed I forget the details. I have brooches I never pin to my cardigans, hair accessories I only remember if I'm wearing no other jewelry, etc...It would be nice to feature more details like this in my day-to-day outfits.

Puloma Jewelry

FREE IMAGES

Puloma is an online shop that features designs from French accessory and jewelry artists. Based in Paris the website brings local work to the global market. The pieces are lovely and each designer has a unique style. All that to say, I'm digging the shop and can't wait to get my hands on a couple of pieces. How great are these chic little figures by Parisian Sisters or this sweet little bell ring (ah, so petite but imagine how it sounds when you use your hands--obviously not to be worn when typing...)?

Spectacle of Miniatures

FREE IMAGES
Endlessly enamored with these hand painted lockets by Khara Ledonne. Each globe contains a tiny, secret world hidden from prying eyes until the locket is opened and its contents revealed. I think they make for beautiful gifts given the special nature of anything painted by hand making each one a work of art and they can hide private messages from the giver to the receiver. She paints a variety of subjects from narwhals to love birds, but the star-themed lockets are my favorites.

Cisthene

FREE IMAGES
I'm swooning over these silk scarves printed with close-ups of gems by Cisthene. The store (named after the island Medusa dwelled on) is stocked with sweet jewelry and leather pouches as well, but it is these scarves that are mesmerizing me at the moment. The colors are deliciously rich and they'd make a sweet statement even with the simplest of outfits.

Spotted Moth

FREE IMAGES
Spotted Moth has often been my go-to for interesting (and affordable) jewelry. I bought these two sets of earrings about a month ago and have been wearing them nearly non-stop since then--yet since I rarely take close-ups I realized they weren't visible in any of my posts. The simple gold point earrings are a nice everyday sort of detail while I like the talons for "edgier" looks.

Thief & Bandit

FREE IMAGES

Simple dresses in an original print make for the perfect summer wardrobe--slap on a pair of sandals, headscarf, and grab your tote bag and you're completely set. These hanprinted dresses by Thief & Bandit would make for sweet summer closet. Some people find the minimalism monotonous, but it's my favorite. Summer should feel easy.

Mineralogy

FREE IMAGES
Currently coveting these natural gemstones by Mineralogy. Everything is made by hand and I like the appreciation shown towards natural shapes and colors--many of the stones are uncut or unpolished. Even the combinations of stones and colors seems very organic, like the random pairings of pebbles you find on a rocky shore that has a pretty sort of kismet. Also, I really would love that geode ring in a size 5 please...
